Revamping the original software meant getting to know the users, how they used the product, their needs and requirements. We met with clients, and potential clients, and gathered feedback on their use of the original software, their motivations and pain points.
Armed with this insight I sketched out ideas and possible interfaces (with pencil and paper), to quickly test user journeys and conceive possible layouts.
After discussing with senior engineers and the product manager I then began creating lo-fi wireframes and concept mock-ups using Axure.
Once I validated the wireframes / mock-ups through a series of discussions and testing, I began developing the style guide, creating hi-fidelity designs and product assets in Illustrator and PhotoShop.
Product assets included the splash screens, marketing images and icons for App store uploads, and the buttons and icons used in the mobile apps.
I oversee the UI and UX of the product from beginning to end, working with the software engineers in Agile sprints to deliver UX/UI features as the product evolves and grows and as our customer's needs develop.
My go-to tools are Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, Brackets and Visual Studio (working with the software engineers), although I have become very familiar with similar tools over the years.
